About Us

The mission of the Karli Mae Foundation is to provide support to the parents and families of neonatal Intensive Care Unit babies by helping ease the financial burdens of everyday expenses while visiting their newborn.

The Karli Mae Foundation was founded in 2013 by Michael and Tanya Warhola in memory of their daughter Karli Mae who was born prematurely. Unfortunately, Karli Mae passed away after a brief 19 hours. While some families suffer this loss many other families endure long stays in local hospitals' newborn intensive care units. In addition to the stresses and expenses of everyday life they also face the increased worries of expenses they will incur while their child is hospitalized. The Karli Mae Foundation helps to take these unexpected stresses off their mind and allow these parents and families to focus their worries on their main  concern,  their newborn baby.

Statistics show each year in the United States alone nearly 500,000 newborns are admitted to Newborn  Intensive Care units. While not all newborns will spend significant time in these units, 1 in 9 newborns is born premature and can spend weeks to months fighting to survive. With your  help, the families of these precious little ones can focus their worries on them and not the expenses they will incur.
